First, PP band does not rust and does not react with many chemicals. This quality makes it a good choice for packaging goods that are subject to moisture and rain. Second, the pilipropylene webbing is extremely elastic. This allows it to stretch and deform without tearing as a result of shocks to it. These shocks can happen during moving, transportation and even packing. As a result, the risk of your goods being unpacked is minimised.\n\nThirdly, in addition to its stretchability, the plastic strapping can also regain its original shape after being stretched, thus re-enforcing the load. Fourth, the band is an insulating material, making it a good choice for packaging electrical components and appliances. Fifth, the PP band is extremely lightweight, making it easy to move around production and storage areas. This convenience is enhanced even more if high-quality strapping dispensers are also used.\n\nOf course, polypropylene strapping has its three main drawbacks. Firstly, it is easily affected by ultraviolet \/UV\/ rays, i.e. sunlight. When the PP band has been sintered in the sun for a long enough time, it reduces its stretchability and return to its original shape. Second, the longer the polypropylene strapping stays tightened on the item, the more it relaxes. This is a problem when packaged goods sit for a long time in storage without being sold. Third, the band only manages to return to its original shape after being stretched if that stretching was small. Fourth, plastic strapping is the weakest strapping of all types, making it unsuitable for wrapping multiple heavy loads. The two ends of the strapping are pressed firmly and soldered together by high temperature, creating an extremely strong bond. As with vibration brazing, no metal clips are required for attachment. However, semi-automatic, automatic or portable strapping machines are required according to production needs. This method is one of the most preferred because the machines required for it are lower priced than those required for the above two methods.\n\nThe most common such machines are These combination machines perform three main functions. First, they tighten the strap as much as the user wants. Second, they secure both ends of the strapping by means of a metal seal. And third, they cut the strapping band and separate the used one from the unused one. Precisely because hand crimpers perform all three steps of the crimping process with metal seals, they are the preferred option. Of course, hand tensioners can also be used for the strapping, but in this case you will need a second tool to secure the two ends of the strap with a metal seal.\n\nThe above metal seals are available in different sizes according to the width of the polypropylene strapping. However, the most common metal seals are 13mm in size and are compatible for attaching plastic tape from 12mm to 16mm wide.
